FurEverHugs didn't start as a business idea. It started with a plastic bag inside of a wooden box and an ache that had no place to go.
WHY WE EXIST
It All Started with Chester.
When Deb lost her dog Chester, his cremated remains arrived in a plastic bag inside a wooden box. She held the box and thought: this isn't good enough. Not for him. Not for any pet who has ever been loved like family.
She wanted to hold him. Really hold him. To have him close in something soft and warm — not tucked away on a shelf behind glass, not stored in a cabinet she couldn't bring herself to open. She searched for a soft-sided urn. She looked everywhere and could not find one anywhere.
So she built one.
What began as a way to hold Chester became something much bigger: a patent-pending silicone heart urn — soft, sift-proof, waterproof, and huggable — that can be inserted into a huggable plush Angel Bear or a pillow with a soft, huggable custom portrait cover. The urn meets TSA and USPS Guidelines, but, most importantly, it is gentle enough to sleep next to.
The Huggable Silicone Urn was born. And FurEverHugs followed.
